Please Note: Per Governor Gavin Newsom’s Executive Order N-29-20 and the March 16, 2020 Order of the Health Officer of San Mateo County Directing All Individuals Living in the County to Shelter at Their Place of Residence, the Governor has allowed local legislative bodies to hold public meetings via teleconference and to make public meetings accessible telephonically or otherwise electronically to all members of the public seeking to observe and to address the local legislative body or state body to avoid public gatherings, and has suspended all contrary provisions of the Brown Act.

On Tuesday, June 12, 2018, the City Council and Planning Commission held a Joint Meeting to learn more about the upcoming El Camino Real and Downtown Specific Plan.


City Council Study Session

On Tuesday, March 14, 2017, the City Council held a Study Session to provide direction on the preparation of the PDA Specific Plan and General Plan Update. The City Council reviewed the Planning Commission’s recommendation and the results of the Community Workshop Series.




Planning Commission Study Session

The City of Millbrae Planning Commission held a study session on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, 621 Magnolia Avenue. The purpose of the study session was to review the results of the Community Workshop Series to Shape the Future of Downtown and El Camino Real, and to discuss proposed concepts for the Priority Development Area (PDA) Specific Plan. The PDA encompasses Downtown Millbrae, the El Camino Real Corridor, and the area surrounding the Intermodal Station.



Community Workshop Series to Shape the Future of Downtown and El Camino Real
From November 1 to 7, 2016, the City of Millbrae hosted a series of community workshops to plan and design the future of downtown and El Camino Real. The workshops brought residents, business owners, and City staff together to explore options, and provide “real time” input as the work unfolds. The community workshop series provided a unique opportunity for everyone who participated to be a mutual author of the General Plan and Priority Development Area (PDA) Specific Plan. The primary focus of the workshops was the Priority Development Area (PDA), which largely encompasses El Camino Real and Millbrae Avenue. The workshops also considered downtown and other areas of the city.
Joint CC/PC Study Session
On Tuesday, September 6, 2016, the City Council and Planning Commission held a Joint Study Session on the General Plan draft vision and guiding principles. The City Council and Planning Commission also reviewed and discussed the Phase I Public Input Summary: Issues and Opportunities and Existing Conditions Report.


Community Workshop #1: Issues, Opportunities, Assets, and Vision
On Monday, April 11, 2016, the City held a community workshop to present the General Plan Update program to residents and stakeholders. The workshop was also used to gather input from participants on what they believe are Millbrae’s assets, issues, opportunities to develop a 25-year vision for Millbrae. At the workshop, the City and its General Plan Update consultant presented an overview of the General Plan Update program, followed by interactive exercises.

Joint CC/PC Study Session
On Tuesday, March 15, 2016, the City Council and Planning Commission held a joint study session to have a detailed discussion on the General Plan Update. Given the importance of the General Plan Update, this meeting provided a common understanding of the need for and purpose of the General Plan, the key steps in the preparation process, the outreach program, legislative mandates, and other important issues affecting the General Plan preparation process.
